The Magic Kingdom

After riding the monorail to the Magic Kingdom we jumped right on the Disneyland Railroad for a quick trip around the park to show the kids what we were in for.

Next we were off to Fantasyland to ride the Dumbo Ride. Peter looked like this throughout most of the trip . . . until he decided it was funny to crawl under the chain and take off laughing.

Charlie looked like this for most of the trip . . . puppy dog eyes and a "Hold me please!"

Next the carousel . . .

The kids both loved the Mickey's Philharmonic 3D show. For the first time Charlie figured out the whole 3D glasses thing. He kept reaching out to grab jewels or clouds or Donald's hands. We got such a kick out of watching him.

The boys both wanted to be held by Dad. Mike would decide to hold them both and they would fight and scream and push and cling to be the only one there.

The characters were by far the boys' favorite part of the parks.

Mike almost got Charlie to ride Splash Mountain, but once they sat down in their log, Charlie screamed and took off for the exit. Maybe next time. Instead, we played in a little play area, letting the kids run around before getting back in line.

We joined up with Mike's parents, sisters, brothers and nephews to ride Pirates of the Caribbean together.

Nap time . . .

The parade . . .

Waiting for Dad to come with the hot dogs . . .

This was the last picture I took that evening before Peter took off running through a crowd and I knocked over my backpack which broke my camera lens. That turned out to be an expensive little mistake. So I have no pictures of the SpectroMagic parade or the fireworks show. Little did I know that was just the first of many things that would go wrong on this trip . . .
