Charlie's Last Tee-Ball Game

This little boy has really enjoyed the last 6 weeks with a ball, a mitt and a batt. He was pretty sad to have it come to an end, but he got over it quickly. On the way home he asked, "So what do I get to play next?"

If you can't beat him, join him

We had family pictures taken before Mike's parents left. Just thought I'd share my favorite one.

Our 4th in Pictures

The traditions continue . . . the same people, the same places, the same great memories that make it worth doing over and over again.

Of course thinking about it, last year was a little different. My beautiful niece was blessed on Independence Day, so we were on the road. But 2008 and 2009 were exactly like 2011 and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Saying Goodbye

We had so many amazing experiences over the last month getting ready for my in-laws to leave on their mission. Here are just some of the highlights:

The week of family fun-just being together.

All the time my boys got to spend with their cousins. They are still talking about when they will get to see them again.

The open house, where so many people came by to say goodbye

Mike's parents' talks in church. They are such amazing people and seriously, those missionaries are going to LOVE them.

Singing with the whole family in sacrament meeting. Well almost the whole family. Charlie chickened out  at the last minute and sat with one of our favorite family friends while we sang. ;)

Getting to be there at the Church Office Building when Elder Nelson set them apart.

Being able to see the many ways the Lord blesses those who are willing to serve.

Getting up at five in the morning to see them off at the airport. And seeing how excited they all were to finally be going.

We've heard from them a number of times in the week that they've been gone. It sounds like they were quickly "broken in" to all of their responsibilities. But it also sounds like they aren't even breaking a sweat . . . well except for Bill trying to learn to use his cell phone. ;)
