Peter's Four Favorite Words

Although he jabbers constantly just like Charlie always did, there are four words that are distinctly recognizable.

He started his vocabulary with the word, "yes." It was his answer any time we asked a question.

His next word was "up" because we got sick and tired of him holding our legs and screaming.

We live quite close to the airport. We sometimes watch planes take off from the neighborhood park. It was no surprise when "airplane" could be recognized coming from his lips as he smiled pointing at the plane.

Yesterday we got his latest word. Pointing at Mike sitting on the stand at church, we got a loud and definite, "da da." It made Mike blush . . . and made my day.

Obama

Okay. Please don't start any debates.

All I hear lately is negativity about our president. That he's completely controlled by those around him. That he's built up more debt than all past presidents combined. That he's a big old socialist. And from what I've been able to discover, most of it is true. Maybe it's just all I hear because I live in a very republican community, but I find myself sinking into a pit of disgust at what he is trying to do to the U.S.A.

So my question is this . . . what is there good about him? I know some of you voted for him. I know some of you still support him. Tell me please, because I want to be able to feel good about something that is happening in this country that I love.

If all you're bringing is more negativity, I don't want to hear it right now. Please keep the comments positive . . . I'm hoping there is something positive. Give me some hope that this is not how I'm going to feel for the next three and a half years.

Just a picture . . .

Latest Project

This, to me, is the essence of my grandparents' house. I got the idea and the template here. I'll be printing it in a 8x10 and putting it somewhere in my house. I haven't decided where yet.

Independence Day Weekend

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, but this Fourth of July was an absolute blast! It could give Halloween a run for it's money. We celebrated for three days straight!

Six Wonderful Years

Six years ago today, Mike and I were married for eternity in the Bountiful, Utah LDS temple. That day is a complete blur, but the years since are not. I'm so grateful for a wonderful husband who loves me and takes care of me. I'm grateful for my two wonderful children. I'm grateful that we have many more happy times than hard times. I'm grateful that I still love my husband as much as (if not more than) ever.

This morning, our kids gave us the greatest present. They slept all night . . . in their own beds . . . until 7:15! Who could ask for more?
