On this day in 2006 . . .

Wasn't Charlie the sweetest little thing? I still can't believe he's now three years old.

Comedy

We've got tickets to Brian Regan. We're pretty stinking excited. And if by chance you've never heard of him, here's a little something funny for you to enjoy.

Charlie's Birthday Party #2

We had a second party for him. This was the "train" party, but really we just had a train cake and a train pinata (sadly it was Thomas, I couldn't find a generic train) and he got more train track for his Ikea train set he got for Christmas. Mike's Family gave him a Cars hooded towel and Little Einstein bath toys. My dad brought the train tracks and a fun whistle, and Mike and I bought him a Cars Tractor Tipping game with . . . (drumroll) FRANK!! We thought we were pretty funny. For those of you that don't know, he asks everyone we meet, "What happened to Frank?" The game is kinda dumb, but it was worth it to see his eyes get so big when he saw the toy combine . . .

Thanks to my wonderful in-laws and my fantastic dad who came up to celebrate with us!!

Now I have to plan something for Mike's birthday (29th) and Peter's first birthday. Any great ideas?

Charlie's Birthday Party #1

On Charlie's actual birthday we went with our good friends Patti, Alan, Ryan and Mari and my mom to a fun party place where the kids could play. Then we came back to our house for pizza, cupcakes and presents. Ryan picked out this fun ball just for Charlie and they had a blast playing with it. My mom gave Charlie a children's digital camera and he has loved it. He loves taking pictures when I'm taking pictures and he loves playing tic tac toe on it.

Enjoy the pictures . . .

To Do List

  • Blog about Charlie's 2 birthday parties
  • Go to mtv.com and watch my cousin on last week's episode of The Real World Brooklyn
  • Pack up the office/craft room in anticipation of the new organizational shelving we're getting when our tax refund gets here.
  • Finish sewing the 2nd set of curtains for the basement.
  • Start checking the grocery stores for Easter candy.
  • Dig through all Peter's BMs looking for the penny that he swallowed. (He got a x-ray this morning that proved it was there.)
Wish me luck!

Happy Valentines Day!

Just a vintage valentine I got from my grandpa about 15 years ago. He said it's from the 30s.

Charlie's birthday posts coming soon . . .

Birthday Season

At our house, we have Charlie's birthday in February, Mike's and Peter's in March and mine in May, so after the holidays, we have birthday season. I've been trying to decide what to do for Charlie's birthday next week, and I'm running out of ideas. He wants a "train" birthday party. We're not talking about Thomas the Train, just a generic train party. His favorite toy is his Ikea wooden train set he got for Christmas and his current favorite movie is Dumbo. He likes the part with the train- "I think I can I think I can . . ." (By the way, did anyone ever notice that the movie is about an elephant and a mouse who get drunk and wake up in a tree?) I found this cute cake at familyfun.com that I'm going to make.

But does anyone have any fun ideas for train themed games and activities?
