Some Randomness

Summer finally seems to be here and we are living outside. Tee-ball games, play dates at the park, picnics, and of course a LOT of time spent in our own backyard.

The boys live on this dirt pile, which basically means my entire house is covered in dirt. Soon the dirt pile will be completely spread out, filling all the holes in our old lawn. Then we'll have to re-seed it and try to keep the kids out while it all grows in. They'll be heartbroken. It has kept them so entertained!

I've been spending a lot of time on the hammock while they play, occasionally yelling at them to turn off the hose or stop throwing dirt and trying to reread all the Harry Potter books before the final movie comes out next month. And although I'm excited to see it, reading the books makes me realize how much more I like the books than the movies. I always knew I liked the books better, but I'm reminded that I love the world J.K. Rowling created so much more in the books. I love how everything is purple and red and cozy and warm. In the movies, especially the 3rd one, Harry's world is more dilapidated and dark. I hate the director's interpretation of the rooms at the Leaky Cauldron and the cold and "drafty-ness" of the wizarding world. Still, the ads for the last movie look amazing.

Mike is working overtime to try to finish the design for the new overpass here in town. I've seen the plans and it's going to be amazing... and so worth it! The state plans on starting construction next Spring.

And in case you haven't heard, this movie comes out tomorrow! And you can bet we'll be seeing it opening day. I know I blame the boys, but I really am just as excited as they are. ;)

Hope everyone is enjoying their Summer!

I hope they call me . . . well not me, thankfully . . .

Mike's parents are leaving soon. And if you want to know more details, send me an email and I'll give you the low down. I'm not putting it here in the interest of keeping a few things private from people I don't know. Plus you all know how I like to get real emails.

We've spent most of the last two weeks with Mike's family, just being together before they take off for three whole years! I know it's going to go by fast, but I really can't imagine not being able to drive down to see them.

We did have a lot of fun. And we squeezed a LOT into a short amount of time. Just thought I'd share a few pictures with them . . . and the rest of you!

Tee-Ball!

We've got Charlie in tee-ball now that soccer is over. It's so cute to watch all these kids playing! And when Charlie comes in to home plate, instead of hitting the base as he runs by, he slows down as he gets there and, well, I'll let you see for yourself. I've been experimenting with making animated photos. And sorry it's fast, I can't figure out how to get it to go slower.

Scott ♥ Seren

Mike's brothers are all officially married. And this one was a fun one!

Don't ask. ;)

Preschool Graduation

Which I of course bawled through. I am so not ready for this kid to leave me and go to kindergarten! He's starting to get to be so much fun to hang out with and play games with and do projects with. I don't know what I'm going to do without him.

This is his AMAZING teacher. We have absolutely loved her.
And these are some of Charlie's wonderful new and old friends. They have had so much fun together this year. It's so sad that although they live fairly close to us, some of them will be going to a different elementary school. Sigh . . .

This kid I know many of you will recognize. Buds since birth, these two will go to the same school next year. Not the same classroom sadly, but they will get recess together!
