I haven't lived in California since I was ten, but I'm starting to miss it.

Random things I never got around to posting

First of all, here are a couple of pictures from Mike's birthday. That cake was to die for! But definitely tasted better with a tall glass of milk than with a scoop of ice-cream.
And this picture I took at the doctor's office at Peter's 1 year check up. Don't you hate how they have you undress your child and then you spend half an hour (if you're lucky) waiting for the doctor to come? Anyway, his stats at one year: 21 lbs 12 oz, 31 inches tall. And still growing like crazy. I'm telling you, that kid can EAT!

Today it snowed. I'm not happy.

So I'm posting photos of happier times . . . taken just five days ago. Doesn't the sunlight just make you smile?

And now he's one

Because of the Mike's Scout Space Derby on Peter's birthday, we decided to celebrate a day early, on St. Patrick's Day. So we covered the house in green and gold, and invited the family to come over. We had soups for dinner, opened presents, played Mario Kart, and ended the evening with cupcakes and lime sherbet. I know Peter won't remember it, but we got lots of pictures. And isn't that what it's all about anyway . . .

How fitting is this to post Peter's birth announcement the week of his first birthday! My sixth folder is full of all the announcements I created. I never did decide on one, so never did get them mailed out. I'm sure no one is surprised by that. It won't stop me from printing one out to put in his baby book though . . . maybe he'll never find out . . .

Sunshine

The sun was out yesterday and the snow finally melted enough for us to get to our slide So during Peter's nap, Charlie and i went outside for a few minutes and experienced our first taste of things to come.



Now if it would just warm up enough to set up the hammock . . .

here comes the sun

It's March and I couldn't be more thrilled! I've had the winter blues pretty bad lately. And I don't usually get so down. But, with the sunshine comes a new motivation for all things beautiful. We've kind of been in a "den" all winter and it's time to brighten things up. I'm suddenly motivated to paint walls, create artwork, and buy patio furniture.
