It's Mario Time!

Birthday parties make me happy!

Just for the record, I did not make that huge Mario.  My very talented friend Mindy made it for her son's birthday and lent it to me.  Come to think of it, I have a lot of very talented friends named Mindy . . .

I did make those stars though.  I decided sending home a little homemade toy was better than sending a bag of candy.  We sugared them up enough at the party.

For those of you who know Charlie's best friend Ryan, a little something fun you might like to hear: they've changed the school boundaries in our town and these two will now be going to the same elementary school!  Crazy because they've known each other since they were born.  Now to talk Patti into morning kindergarten...

Please tell me it's not true!

This kid can't really be five can he?  I mean wasn't it just last week that he came into our lives, spitting up all over everything and keeping me up all night.  I'm sure that it was just last week that he was jabbering incoherently on the phone and asking everyone, "What happened to Frank?"  Can he really be five already . . . getting ready to start soccer and asking about when kindergarten starts?
I'm floored.  And yet so proud of this little boy who makes me happy each and every day.

Happy Birthday my Charlie Bear! It's going to be a great day!

Just a few pics from our little get-away

It was definitely a quick trip, but we managed to pack it with fun.  We actually spent most of the time at the hotel pool, but we did get out some too...
