Happy Easter

Things here are going well . . . I'm healing well, Peter is already growing, and Charlie is adjusting (except for a few incidences of book ripping to try to get some attention). Mike went back to work and so far I'm handling the change from one kid to two kids like a pro. Of course, Peter is still sleeping 85% of the time. I'm a little afraid of what will happen when he "wakes up."


We didn't get any great Easter pictures, but I thought I'd share anyway. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! We were just happy to see a little grass in the yard so we could do an outdoor egg hunt.

And Three Become Four

So, as Mike said we now have another baby boy. We have tentatively decided to name him Peter Evan. I'm still not sure if it fits him, but it was really the only name that Mike and I could remotely agree on. He was born on Tuesday, March 18th at 5:05 pm. 8 pounds 7 ounces, 21 inches and except for some slight jaundice, he's completely healthy. I am so happy to not be pregnant anymore! This whole experience was SO much easier on me than Charlie's birth! I actually started crying when they told me I was done because I couldn't believe it could be that easy. I now fully understand why people choose to have more children. Charlie absolutely loves him. He loves to point out that the baby has eyes . . . and ears . . . and hair . . . Peter is going to have to quickly get used to being poked and prodded. Also, in true big brother fashion, Charlie loves to point and laugh when Peter cries.

New Baby

Kirsten always manages the blog but she's out of commission tonight due to our new baby. Her water broke at 3:30 am this morning. We took our time getting to the hospital because Charlie took so long to come. We arrived at about 6:30 am and eventually the new baby came at about 5:00 pm. Kirsten did great. I was so impressed. She pushed for only 30 min and was up and walking about two hours later. Wow. Anyway here is a picture of our new baby without a name. Kirsten, I'm sure will post a lot more comments and pictures later.

Yesterday, I finally got around to chopping all my hair off and can I just say it feels heavenly! It totally stressed out the hair stylist to have to do it, and then it did end up a little short in the back, so the cut ended up a little more A-line than I would have liked. But all in all it feels great to get rid of the length. And I love that I can send it to someone who needs it.

Not such a good day . . .

The snow is back in full force and my OB is taking me off sugar because of my glucose levels. If it could have just waited until after Easter. I LOVE Easter candy! (which is probably why I have a glucose problem in the first place . . .)

A Good Day

Yesterday was one of those days that just makes you happy. The snow is melting! I love going outside in the sunshine and listening to the sound of all the water dripping off all the roofs in the neighborhood. Hopefully by Easter, we will actually be able to see the grass well enough to hide some eggs for Charlie.

I also got some fun news from a friend of mine. I got my bag almost packed for the hospital (nevermind that I still don't know where the hospital actually is). Charlie and I spent some quality time in the sun. I finally bought new drinking glasses because between "the boy" and I we have broken most of our old ones and have been using plastic ones since moving in. I got our office about 1/3 cleared of boxes. And I discovered Down East Home, which sells Pottery Barn Kids stuff at outlet prices.

Yep a good day. If I hadn't left my camera in my mom's car, I'd take a picture to show you the melting piles of snow running down my street. (sigh of happiness)
