8/8/08 at 8:08

In honor of all the eights in a row today, I'm going to post a tag that I started almost a year ago, saved as a draft, and never finished. And believe it or not, it was actually 8:08 in the morning when I started this. I went to change the post options to make it post at 8:08 and it was that way already. Weird!

8 things i am passionate about:

1. My Family
2. The Gospel
3. The importance of having good primary/nursery teachers
4. Taking pictures . . . not necessarily photography, because I'm not good at it, but I'm passionate about making sure we capture the moments that are worth remembering.
5. Baking
6. Having good friends
7. Halloween ;)
8. Reading with your kids

8 things i want to do before i die:

1. Learn another language
2. Visit six out of the seven continents. (I have no desire to visit Antarctica)
3. Get out of debt
4. Get caught up on my scrapbooking at least once
5. Create a place for everything in my house. No more piles of boxes that I can't decide what to do with.
6. Get my kids potty trained.
7. Own a REALLY nice camera.
8. Learn to not feel like I have to explain myself to everyone.

8 books i have read recently:

1. Breaking Dawn, by Stephanie Meyer
2. Damsel Under Stress, by Shanna Swendson
3. The Host, by Stephanie Meyer
4. Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen
5. Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood, by Jim and Charles Fay
6. Fablehaven 3: Grip of the Shadow Plague, by Brandon Mull
7. In His Steps, by Charles Monroe Sheldon
8. From the End of Heaven, by Chris Stewart

8 things i say often:

1. Charlie! Did you wake Peter up?!?!
2. We don't bite/hit/pinch.
3. Charlie, he can't eat that. He doesn't have any teeth.
4. Charlie, where are your pants?
5. Yay! You're home!
6. Oh heavens! (writing that makes me sound like an 80-year-old, but I really do say it a lot)
7. Yeah, once you get him talking, you're stuck for a while.
8. Where is my phone?

8 things that attract me to a friend:
(Mindy you'll recognize some of these because your answers were so perfect. Maybe that's why we get along so well)

1. sense of humor
2. honesty
3. my ability to do stupid things around them without them making me feel stupid
4. Doesn't find fault in EVERYTHING. I know I'm not exactly an optimist, but it's hard being around someone who doesn't see anything good ever and never gets happy or excited about anything.
5. Fun and silly
6. Shared interests.
7. Can talk about nothing
8. Be passionate about something, anything

8 songs i could listen to over and over again:
(This list could go on and on and on . . .)

1. Real Gone, Sheryl Crow
2. Grace Kelly, Mika
3. The Curious George soundtrack, Jack Johnson
4. Dawn, from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack
5. Embraceable You, Chet Baker
6. Love Song, Sara Bareilles (trendy I know, but I LOVE to sing to it in the car)
7. And So it Goes, Billy Joel
8. F.N.T., Semisonic

8 things i have learned this past year:

1. Focus on enjoying things as they happen, don't just try to get them over with.
2. Sometimes just playing with your kids is more important than getting a picture of them.
3. Decorating a house all at once is too stressful and too expensive. I'll just decorate slowly, as I pick up things that I like or that are on sale.
4. A student ward primary is NOTHING like a family ward primary.
5. Never trust Charlie in the car by himself. :)
6. Spending time with my family on Saturdays is more important than cleaning my house.
7. Keep the camera charged at all times! (Did I ever mention that when Peter was born Mike got out the camera and it was dead . . .)
8. Labor doesn't have to be a near death experience. Thank you Mike the anesthesiologist!

8 random things about me:

1. I bite my nails, but I'm getting better.
2. I love to organize things, but they never stay that way.
3. I love tomatoes cooked and mutilated (like in sauces) but I don't like them raw.
4. I accidentally taught Charlie to call Mike, "Mike" instead of "Dad."
5. I love to play cards.
6. I love to go grocery shopping.
7. I've recently discovered that I enjoy going for a walk/run in the morning. I think it's because it's the only alone time I get all day.
8. I've already got our costumes for Halloween planned.

8 other people I think should do the 8

1. Mindy G.
2. Linsey
3. Brittany
4. Kathy
5. Amy
6. Jimmy
7. Mike . . . if I can get him to do it.
8. I'd actually love to hear from anyone, so fill in your name here _____________.

I loved reading your 8's! You are so fun and creative! I hope you are enjoying your house and your 2 cute boys. I love to hear about Charlie - Preston is doing some of the same things. Keeps us laughing and busy!
