I've been going through some old boxes and found one full of letters. Most of them are from my old friends from elementary school and jr. high. We talked about boys mostly, but also school and vacations and parties. I even have some letters written in a secret code. (heyyoit reeoia rommoif ouuoiy nnaleeeoia ;) But my favorite letters are those from my grandparents. As they have all passed on, it makes me so happy to know that I have that little piece of remembrance from them.
I once asked my Grandma for info about our pioneer ancestors for a primary talk, and she sent me this. It's a letter written by my great great grandmother in 1922 when she was 76 years old. It was too amazing not to share it here with other cousins on my mom's side who may like to see it. And maybe you all have copies of this, but just in case you don't . . .

Kirsten, I agree! This is a gem. My mom just gave each of us a copy of this letter a month or so ago. I typed it up and have it posted on http://andersonancestors.blogspot.com/. I love how she talks about the dances. Hard times, but simpler times. I wish people could be so happy with so much less!
Wow, that is awesome! Love your blog header by the way too, the style is great, and your boys priceless!
That is truly a treasure! It's fun to look at old letters and pictures! That letter is priceless! Way cool.
