So in honor of the summer coming to a close, here are some highlights of that last three months: (Get ready, because this is going to take a while...)
This guy discovered how much he loves swimming. And he refuses to have us hold him. Thus the arm floaties, which at least keep his head above water . . . mostly.
I love these guys. They make me happy every day.
Charlie had quite the happy dance going on while we lit our independence day fireworks. I'm so glad I got some blackmail photos for later.
Watching these guys come home from a mission well served. It was amazing to me how even though it was just my mother-in-law and father-in-law who were called, my sisters-in-law really got involved as well. They were ALL serving a mission: working with the missionaries, inviting friends and neighbors to learn more about Christ, and helping run the mission home. They are amazing. I'm sure those missionaries miss them, but we are pretty happy to have them back.
My sister-in-law, Kylie secretly turned in her own mission papers without even telling her parents. She finally let it slip and got her call just a couple of days later. San Diego is getting an amazing young woman in just a few months!
The kids love "Art Days" on the Greenbelt. And getting to try out these guitars was so much fun.
Watching the duck race on the river. They were so sure we were going to win. C'est la vie.
The rest of these are from our trip to the lake with Mike's family. We relaxed, we swam, we ate, we swam, we played and we swam. It really was so good to spend that time with them. We have missed them so much over the past couple of years!
And now it's over. We're going to try to get a little more summer fun in this week, but we also have to finish the school shopping and get organized for a new year. Soccer starts this week too, which means living and breathing that for a while. I don't know what I'm going to do when it's THREE teams' practice/game schedules I'm trying to juggle. Two is plenty to keep us busy. Squish can stay little for as long as he wants to.
